How Gold Leaf is Made
The melting oven is heated to 1300° C so that the gold leaf ingredients fuse together.
The melted metal is poured from the melting pot into a long rectangular form.
The cooled metal (called a "zain") solidifies in the form.
The gold bar is fed into a double-sided roller press, which evenly exerts 1200 kg of pressure onto the bar. If the roller press only had one roller, the bar would not be pressed into one even strip but would fan out.
